G’mar Chatima Tovah! May you be sealed in the Book of Life!
“The tenth day of this seventh month is Yom-Kippur; you are to have a holy convocation, you are to deny yourselves, and you are to bring an offering made of fire to Adonai.” Vayikra (Leviticus) 23:27
Yom Kippur brings to a close the Ten Days of Awe which began with Rosh HaShanah. Yom Kippur is known as the Day of Atonement, the most solemn holy day for the Jewish people. Atonement provides the reconciliation of G-d and man. We observe Yom Kippur by fasting, studying and praying for twenty-four hours. Our website provides the Biblical history and context of this holiday. Please click here to learn more about it!
A Jewish feast or festival may contain multiple services and/or events. There are four services/events for our Yom Kippur observance: Erev Yom Kippur, Yom Kippur morning service, a Teaching/Yeshiva, and an in-home N’ilah service/Break-the-Fast. Yom Kippur begins at sundown on Wednesday, October 1, and continues through sundown on Thursday, October 2.
Please join us for the following services. As always, there is no charge for seats and reservations are not required.
october 1
7 pm Erev Yom Kippur
october 2
10:40 am Yom Kippur Morning Service
2 pm Yom Kippur Teaching (via Zoom – check your e-communique for details)
The N’ilah Service and the Break-the-Fast will be done in home groups.
If you have spare time to help us prepare for an event, please let us know. No experience necessary – just a heart to serve!
