47 Thank you rabbahauri. You can. Open up your Bibles to Luke 12 if you have them with you, that's where we'll be today. Some years ago. I was in need of work. A friend needed help with a court case. Although I have absolutely no legal training. He asked if I could help him to get organized. He had a lawyer too, but much of the work didn't require a lawyer. And I was willing to help him for a fraction of the cost. I needed the money and he needed the help. In retrospect, I think he was looking for a companionship. Most of all. The court case involved The Inheritance that

33 his parents had left for him and his siblings. The siblings did not get along. They accused each other of manipulation and Theft. They fought over access to the funds and how it should be distributed. I worked with my friend for months helping him to track down receipts bank statements letters and emails in order to show that he was operating honestly and should receive his prescribed allotment of the inheritance. I helped him crunch the numbers and make copies and submit forms to attorneys and courts. Finally the day of the hearing came. Although it did not make sense for me to travel for hours to be in court my friend asked if

20 he could pay me to accompany him. I was in need of work and said yes. We traveled up the California coast and arrived early at the courthouse. His sister arrived and I could feel the tension between them. When his lawyer came I was shocked to see that she was just as disorganized as my friend was. His sister's lawyer presented her case and then it was my friend's turn. The lawyer presented and my friend asked if I would take the stand. Unfortunately, when he presented me to the court, he told them I was a mathematician for some reason. Naturally, the opposition immediately asked

05 if I was a mathematician and I answered with a resounding no. I'm not sure why my friend presented me in that way. He was even slightly upset with me afterward for not pretending that I was a bath of petition. in any case I actually believe that my friend had acted with Integrity in regard to the trust I spoke as well as I could for him. My friend was so disorganized. However That it made him look suspect. It also didn't help that. He lied about me and presenting me to the court. I assured them that it was not necessary for me to be a mathematician for me to help my friend add up receipts and find financial documents. I

52 suppose that in comparison to my friend. I was a mathematician. I'm not sure how it all panned out for my friend. I didn't ask. I did observe some things though. Well, I do not know how the judge ultimately decided. I do know that a lion share of the money went to the attorneys and the courts. I don't place the blame on the lawyers or the courts though. The real tragedy was the fractured relationship between my friend and his siblings. The Inheritance didn't help either It only compounded the relational issues and Drew them further from one another.

39 We are all in need of provision. Yet we each have decisions to make regarding our perspective. How much do we need? What is the source of our provision? Where should we focus our attention? What things should we pursue? What things do we need to let go? The way we answer these questions will determine our Outlook our attitude and our relationship with others. What is worry? Cambridge Dictionary defines worry in this way to think about problems or unpleasant things that might happen. In a way that makes you feel unhappy and frightened.

27 There are terrifying things in the world disease anti-Semitism rape murder the depletion of Natural Resources War child labor and exploitation famine and Trauma. We would be ignorant to pretend that these things did not exist. However We can control our response to the evil around us. We can control our response to the evil within our hearts. We can choose how we focus our attention and what we strive after. We all live in the same world. This world is filled with atrocity as well as Beauty.

13 We can choose our response. Furthermore God cares about our response the way that we think is important. It will dictate how we make decisions. It will determine what things we pursue with our limited time energy and resources. It will determine how we treat the Lord and how we treat others. Worry is not acknowledgment of a problem. Worry is when we become fixated upon negativity. Worry is when we lose sleep over things that we cannot control. Ultimately for followers of Yeshua worry comes from a lack of trust in the Lord.

58 Do you believe that God is aware of you? Do you believe that he knows what you need? Do you realize that he has a purpose for your life that might be different than what you imagine. Do you believe that God exists? Do you believe that he is in control? Do you believe that he cares for you? How you answer? These questions will determine the way you approach life? Worrying is counterproductive for many reasons. first of all worry and the stress it produces. Causes you to have a shorter and more miserable life. It also causes others to avoid you because you

45 discourage them with your worry. Additionally we often worry about things that we cannot control. Our worrying does not resolve the problem. Furthermore we probably have real issues in our life that need to be addressed. worrying can also cause us actually cause us to create future problems which never come to pass. Which we stress over for no reason. It wastes our precious time energy and causes us to be unfruitful. Just imagine if we were to take all the time and energy that we spend worrying and use it towards the calling the Lord has

30 placed upon Our Lives. The title of my message is inherit the Kingdom. We will be looking at Luke 12. verses 22 through 32 I would like to shine light upon three things from this text. First I want to encourage you to partake in the life of Yeshua. Next I want to invite you to be clothed in yeshua's glory. Lastly I want to embolden you to receive the riches of the Kingdom. My outline can be found on the YouVersion app. And I will be reading from the Tree of Life version. I will Begin by reading Luke 12 verses 22

18 through 24. Then Yeshua said to his disciples. So I say to you do not worry about life what you will eat nor about the body what you will wear for life is more than food and the body more than clothing. consider the Ravens They do not sow or reap. They have no storeroom or barn yet. God feeds them. How much more valuable you are than Birds? partake in the life of Yeshua Yeshua encourages his talmadine. to consider the Ravens

07 Look, I mean Marcus is great at beatboxing. Monica is an excellent teacher their children are bright and talented. How excellent to have the master himself give you a shout out in Scripture. joking aside The Ravens are first place in their division this year additional joking aside. Ravens are mainly scavengers. They mostly feed on dead animals and garbage. They're also opportunistic hunters and will make the most of a fortuitous moment if necessary. They are not finicky eaters. They'll take what comes to them. Here in North America, we take pride in

53 the bald eagle, which stalks its prey. They may even snatch a fish directly out of an osprey's talents. Fishing mammals and even people can lose their catch to Bald Eagle piracy. Benjamin Franklin desired for the wild turkey to be our national bird He was not a fan of the bald eagles thieving Tendencies and thought the bird was a coward as it was vulnerable to the attack of the Kingbird, which was no longer no larger than a sparrow. Franklin found the eagle to be a bird of bad moral character Franklin was not alone in such observations. I once learned under a professor.

40 Who had spent decades as a missionary in Africa? Although North Americans are generally fans of large predatory Birds. The Africans that he encountered felt differently. They saw more virtue in the Scavengers who did not kill. They had to wait upon the Lord to provide food. They did not Rob life from others. Rather they rejoice in what God provided. All this talk about birds might seem superfluous. and high-minded culturally and geographically speaking as westerners. We are about as distant from the culture of Yeshua and his talmadim as it is possible to be

28 how can we even know if our Ravens were like the ones that Yeshua referred to in the Gospels? is the North American common raven similar to the birds of your to quote the raven Nevermore Edgar Allan poetry aside Yeshua wants us to learn from the birds. They have no vaults in which to store up their possessions yet. God cares for them. You might be asking what is Yeshua responding to with this parable. If you are here on Wednesday night. Yeshua sent us a raven to teach the

14 background of the passage that we are looking at today. In the section which precedes today's teaching a man from the crowd says teacher tell my brother to divide the inheritance with me. Rather than picking sides between the man and his brother. Yeshua takes the opportunity to shift the conversation and to teach his talmadin his disciples. As a side note when we tell Yeshua what to do. It usually does not end in the way that we desire. Yeshua was not interested. In the fight that the siblings were having over their parents' money.

59 As an aside. What things consume our attention? Is it possible that the things that we are striving after? Are of no interest to the Lord. in the prior Passage Yeshua basically tells the angry brother the time is short and he won't be able to take any of that money with him. Rather he should give more attention to the relationship. his relationship to the Lord and storing up treasure that will last. And probably his relationship to his brother. I'm reading it to his words, of course. While we do not see that man's response to yeshua's rebuke.

44 We see how Yeshua utilizes this teachable moment to address his talmadin. Although his disciples were far from perfect. These talmadine made a choice to break away from their old patterns of life and follow Yeshua not knowing the outcome but by faith in yeshua's character and alignment with the scriptures. They believe that God had fulfilled promises in the past that he was doing wonders before their eyes and that he would be faithful to perform his word in the future. This is not to say that they all. understood Russ required to follow Yeshua

31 And they made an incredible impact upon human history and continue to partake in the Bounty of God's provision. even today Have you ever been around someone who is far beyond where you are in a given area of life? for instance A musician might feel pretty good about their level of skill until they start hearing musicians who exponentially exceed their skill. The proper response is not to become upset or envious but rather to appreciate the immense Talent gifting and hard work that goes into the Mastery of a craft. It shows us that we are not done growing.

17 It helps us to be humble and have a sober estimation of ourselves. While we each may have something that we can do exceedingly. Well Yeshua is the master of all he understands life from an eternal perspective. We are playing the same scales over and over again while he is conducting a symphony that resounds throughout the Universe. When he speaks we should listen. Yeshua assures his followers that worrying about what we will eat and what we will wear. to myopic we are prone to stare at our own navels rather than lifting up our eyes to the wondrous works of God

03 and the ways that he desires to include us in the building of the kingdom of God. We may not regard the scavengers that fly about. But God cares for them. How much more does he care for the ones created in his own image? How much more does he care for the ones who have dedicated their lives to follow his instruction? How much more does he care for the ones who are focused upon building his kingdom upon the Earth? Luke 12 chapter verses 25 through 28 Read as follows.

49 and which of you By worrying can add a single hour to his life. So if you cannot do even something very little why do you worry about other things? Consider the lilies how they grow. They neither toil nor spin. Yet I tell you that not even Solomon. In all his glory was clothed like one of these. But if God so clothed the grass in the field, which is here today and thrown into the furnace tomorrow. Then how much more will he clothe you? Oh you of little faith. Be clothed in yeshua's glory. That sounds very high-minded. Doesn't it?

37 How is that possible? I'd like to take this opportunity to clear up what may be a common misperception. Yeshua is not asking his disciples to go forth aimlessly. He is not telling his talmadine to just carry on and the spirit will guide you. Remember, this is the same Rabbi who taught his followers to count the cost before building. This is the same rabbi. Who reminded his disciples of the dangers of going astray? This is the same Rabbi who would send these Talma diem out from Israel to make disciples of all Nations immersing them in the name of the father and the son and the ruachodesh teaching them to

22 observe all that he commanded. These weren't just some free loving hippies. Singing come on people now smile on your brother everybody get together. Try to love one another right now. Yes, they had love. But they also had a challenge to society. These men laid down their lives for Yeshua. literally They were intentional and strategic. So, where is this line between plotting the course and worrying about the future? It is a question of where we focus our attention.

07 I want to add here that Yeshua didn't give this teaching to the crowds. And there were crowds around him. He gave it to the twelve who had left their prior lives in order to follow his voice. This was the instruction that he gave to the ones who pledged to set aside their own desires in order to shine. Yeshua's light to the world. This teaching needs to be understood within this context. so How does this relate to followers of Yeshua today? We are not part of the twelve. If we have received Yeshua. We are those who have been influenced. By the teaching Yeshua gave to the talmadim over 2,000

54 years ago. Most of us are not living in Israel. We have smartphones and vehicles and are paying rent or mortgages managing debt caring for loved ones embarking on careers planning for the future. What does this word mean for us? first I think it speaks of acceptance and contentment. God has given each of us responsibility. Perhaps you have children or take care of parents. Perhaps you have a job or responsibilities at home. Perhaps you are a student. God wants you to thrive in the work that he has given you. This requires attentiveness planning and counsel.

42 Yet the the unhealthy manifestation of care and concern is worry stress and fear. This is a challenging word. But I believe Yeshua is calling us to embrace our lot in life. But what if you have some kind of ailment? Should we just let it destroy us? Absolutely not. We should pray we should consult doctors and we should seek treatment. We should do what is within our power. That is wisdom. Remember Luke was a physician. Yet Perhaps. There are some things that are beyond our control. Such as the weather.

29 and the choices of other people we have a hard enough time controlling ourselves. We have a sphere of influence and responsibility, but it has very definite limits. For instance if you're a student. You don't need to worry about your test. You need to study. That's your responsibility. Worrying won't help but studying will. Yet we find ourselves in situations sometimes where we cannot succeed. We are striving to no avail. We are trying to force something according to our own will. Perhaps there is an area of life. The distressing you out today.

16 Perhaps there was something that you want, but it's not happening. We need to bring this thing to the Lord. Has God asked us to do this or are we striving Against The Winds of the ruach? Is God telling us to persevere? Where is God telling us to let go? for the man in the crowd he was concerned about his inheritance. He wasn't on the same frequency as Yeshua. notice this man had food this man had clothing. This man was well enough. In his health to come and seek Yeshua in a crowd. But what did he ask for? He was seeking his own will.

04 That man could focus his energy on finding a judge and winning against his brother in court. He could do that but Yeshua had other concerns entirely. Use this opportunity to encourage those who had aligned themselves with the purposes of God. Hey, you guys don't need to be like this. There's something bigger for you. There's something bigger than yourself. God wants to use you to bring light to the world. That guy can't get over the dispute with his brother. But as for you, don't be like that. Don't you know you're Riding with the King? Put your agenda aside.

49 Be about the king's business and the King will take care of you. the disciples had clear directives straight from the mouth of Yeshua himself in the flesh That didn't make it easy, but it did make it clear. How about us? What resources do we have available to use? We have the word to guide us. We have access to the spirit of God if we seek it. We have people to help guide us on the path. We have difficulties. It may be difficult relationships and maybe Financial woes it may be health issues.

35 We may struggle with self-esteem mental spiritual or other ailments. I want to encourage you today not to become fixated on the work of the enemy. I want to encourage you today. Not to blame others for your predicament. I want to encourage you today to not wallow in self-pity. The talmadine had issues, too. Their path may have been tougher than what we will ever face. Yet through their trust in Yeshua and putting aside their own will in order to serve him. They were able to rise above their circumstances and limitations and bring about advancement in the kingdom of God upon the Earth.

23 This is their inheritance. Yet for each of the talmadim. It was a choice. And even among the talmadim they did not all pass the test. Greed and selfishness were always lurking in the shadows. sin crouches at the door But you may rule over it. How do we view the challenging situations in our life? If we can view life and it's difficulties. as our spiritual curriculum if we see that God creates all things. We can receive whatever we are dealt with the proper attitude.

08 whether good or bad from what I can tell you are all clothed. and fed That is something to be grateful for. That is something to recognize. That is something to be encouraged by when worry and fear and self-doubt begin to creep in. Do you see that God is taking care of you? These talmudaim had more to be concerned about than we do. They were about to be sent forth into foreign lands without possessions. Their Reliance on God would be tested in ways that most of us cannot imagine.

56 Yet Yeshua, encouraged them to observe the way he had taken care of them. He's got you. Worrying about that. Well, do you know good? It will only spoil your mood and prevent you from achieving your calling. So I ask you. In what ways has God taken care of you in the past. Did you make those things happen? Or was it something beyond your control? Who do you think orchestrated those things? If we choose to accept it. We are the flock the Sheep of his pasture. He is the Good Shepherd. He watches over us he knows what he is doing. Worry and fear will only hinder us.

44 Trust will lead us forward. Listening to his voice will show us the way. Obedience will enable us to overcome the love of self and to expand the kingdom of God within our hearts and the places where he leads us. What are you wearing today? Yes, you have clothing and that's great. But there's so much more. Are you wearing the garments of praise? Can you thank God for what? He has given you. Have you put on the belt of Truth? Are you willing to embrace the truth of your life and calling even if it means laying aside your own agenda? Have you put on the breastplate of righteousness? Do you realize that the Lord can equip you to do the right thing

30 so that you don't need to wallow in shame and worry about others finding out about you. What kind of shoes are you wearing? Are you ready to go forth and be an example to others? Where is your Shield of faith? Are you able to extinguish the fiery darts that fly at you? Or did you take an arrow in the knee? Thank you. Have you received the helmet of salvation? Have you received your sword? The word of God is the sword of the spirit. How often do you wield your sword once a month once a week pesach and Yom Kippur.

16 I want to challenge you today. If you struggle with worry or fear. Take up a sword against it. Where's your Bible? How often does it come out? Remember worrying won't help you with your math test but studying will. Worrying won't help you with your problems, but opening the word will. Some are adamant about being armed at all times. But is the word with you? How accessible is it when worry and fear set in? What's your habit? Are you overcome or do you wage war against it? This week. I was talking with Joe and Brittany Greenberg from the Tree of Life Bible Society about the

01 importance of actually having a physical Bible that we wield regularly. Yes, it can be accessed upon electric electronic devices, too. however, when we are on our devices distractions abound we may start with good intention only to be carried off by a Spam call Doom scrolling or noticing that your friend has a slightly better beard than you do. I want to encourage you to get your hands on a good physical Bible and read it daily. Even if it's only for a few minutes. Make it part of your wake-up or bedtime routine. If you struggle with worry or fear, when does that usually happen? It might be good to plan to read a bit at that time.

48 We tend to be habitual creatures. Make it part of your daily schedule. Let it become one of your habits and it might just replace some of your other habits. If you find yourself in a place where you're unable to have a physical Bible. A digital Bible is better than nothing. I encourage you to download the tlv Bible app, it's free and it doesn't have any pop-up ads. Ideally, you can utilize both of these tools in different contexts. This way you can go beyond using scripture to fend off worry and fear and go forth on the offensive moving beyond yourself assisting others and becoming a force for spreading the good news of Yeshua to the world.

34 Luke 12 verses 29 through 32 read as follows So do not seek what you will eat and what you will drink and do not keep worrying. For all the nations of the world strive after these things. But your father knows that you need these things instead seek his kingdom and these things shall be added to you. Do not be afraid Little Flock for your father chose to give you. the kingdom receive the riches of the Kingdom. What is the kingdom of God? It is the area in which God rules over right? It's pretty straightforward. in the last chapter of Luke

21 Yeshua teaches his talmadim to pray your kingdom come. In Matthew it reads on Earth as it is in heaven. so this kingdom of God is real. but Earth proclaims his glory he is the master of the universe. He created ya he created us yet. He does not force himself upon us. rather he invites us to choose. You have options. You can pedal your bike with your hands if you want. But you have options. They are not all wise. You do not have the power to defeat the kingdom of

07 God. However, you do have the power to resist the kingdom of God within yourself. Furthermore you have the power to prevent the purposes of God from being enacted within your own life. You are free to exercise your own will in accordance to the Lord or in opposition to his guidance. That's your choice. It's not wise to rebel against the Lord, but you're free to do it. It's ironic that Yeshua is prompted by a question about an inheritance. That man was so fixated upon receiving his money from his parents that he could not inherit the Kingdom.

52 Where we choose to focus our attention time and resources will impact our future. and even our eternity God is reminding us that if we can begin to think beyond our own needs and to serve others in obedience to Yeshua, he will handle all of our needs and even go beyond them. He can take better care for us than we can take care of ourselves. To this little flock that is attentive to the shepherd's voice. The father gives the kingdom. I don't think we realize the weight of that. When we submit ourselves to the will of the Lord. We inherit the kingdom of God.

38 God has given us each a section of the garden to tend. Here on on this side of the world to come. He's a sphere of influence and by all means we should be responsible to tendent. Yet we have a tendency to creep outside of our own Lanes. Perhaps we get involved in situations where we have no reason to be. We waste our time with fruitless Pursuits. We spend our money on things that do not satisfy. We try to mask the pain within our hearts through various tactics and temporary pleasures. It is paradoxical but those who are willing to lose themself for the sake of the master will find themselves.

24 They will inherit everything they need and much more. They will be bold and courageous. They will be full of peace. They will be full of hope they will be full of joy. They will be full of the spirit of God. It doesn't mean that they will not face hardship, but it does mean that the grace of God will be sufficient to overcome the attacks that may come from the enemy the friend the neighbor The Stranger or even the self. How equipped are you to handle fear? And worry? What is your perception of yourself? What is your relationship to the Lord? Are you loved? Are you cared for? Have you met your creator?

11 Do you know that he is willing to walk with you every day even today? Do you realize what you are missing when you are pursuing your own interests instead of his? Do you realize what you are missing out on when you were wallowing in negativity and shame? Yeshua is inviting you today to inherit the kingdom of God. It's not temporary. It's Eternal. It's expanding. You can decide whether to let it in or keep it out. For those who want to let it in I have some practical advice. First what are you clinging to? What are you striving after? Is it the Lord's doing or your own conception?

59 Are you willing to let it go? What things are you holding on to? That are holding you down. To something come to mind. Have you ever asked the Lord? Have you ever asked what am I holding on to that? I need to let go of I encourage you to ask that question if you've never done that before. If you've asked the Lord before I encourage you to ask the Lord again. We are always changing as is our situation. It could be that God called us to hold on to something for a season. And now that season is over. I don't know. What I do know is that the shepherd knows his flock and the flock here the voice of the shepherd.

44 How often are you pursuing the shepherd? Have you wandered off the path? Are you ready to come home? God may be calling you to release something, but he also may be calling you to take something on. What can you do to pursue the will of the Lord? If you don't already know ask the Lord. Pray about it Journal about it talk to mature followers of Yeshua who know you well. Give thought to the kingdom of God. Where is it? Am I part of it? The scriptures tell us that the kingdom of God is at hand. Do you see your hand? That's pretty close, isn't it? The thing we need may be right in front of our face.

32 Maybe we're ignoring it. Receive the Master's invitation today. to inherit the Kingdom let it permeate your heart and your mind. Let it release you from worry and fear. Embrace the kingdom and let the king Take Care of You. shabbat shalom May the Lord bless you and keep you may the Lord make his face shine upon you and be gracious to you. May the Lord lift up his countenance upon you and give you peace. if I recognize marath

17 A yea, I don't know. He he's never Lika. There's some left. Buscem Yeshua, Michigan in the name of our Messiah Yeshua shabbat shalom. By the way, happy Hanukkah. It's almost here.
