00 Anyways, we are this is my first opportunity since before. I holy days to. Come back to this series that we're doing on Luke. So some of you are probably like wait, we're doing a series on Luke. Because it's been so long. But yes, we're doing a series on Luke. Actually, we're doing a series on Luke Acts. and we've been doing this series now for 10 months. I think we started middle of January. And we are in. Luke Chapter 11 and I so I continued it this week and I'm just going to recap for the sake of for some of you who did not come on Wednesday night because
47 this is one of my favorite. portions of the Gospels But before I do that, I just want for everybody's sake to to recall. A few details about Luke. First of all Luke is the author. If you didn't catch that Luke is the author. He wrote the book called Luke. I could well I never mind no, no. As I thought the new members class this morning and I said sometimes my filter doesn't catch what's going through my brain? But that time it did. So the purpose of Luke that we've been looking at for the last 10 months the purpose we
35 find in the first chapter in the first few verses. Luke is writing to someone by the name of Theophilus and he says Therefore your Excellency since I have carefully investigated all these things from the beginning it seemed good to me that I too should write you in an accurate in ordered narrative. So that so here. This is where we derive our purpose for the Book of Luke so that or for the purpose. That you might know how well founded or how sure the things are. about which you have been taught So I'm just I'm gonna I'm going back several months just as a memory refresh for some of us.
21 I I posited I think is the word I'm looking for. I posited that the Theophilus. Is already a believer in Yeshua. And that perhaps Theophilus has been going through some trials or tribulations and has come to the point of wondering. About his faith. And in that process Luke comes along and says I'm gonna write this book so that you know for sure. About the things that you have been taught. Or how well-founded those things that you have been taught are. You see so the purpose of the Book of Luke.
09 And we'll look at acts also, but I think acts you can just keep on going with this is for the purpose of re-energizing or refreshing the faith of someone who's already a Believer but has come to a point of questioning. in Luke talks a lot about the inbreaking of the Kingdom of Heaven. And really that there's this. This idea of this twofold in Breaking of the Kingdom of Heaven number one for the Kingdom of Heaven to come here. The King has to return. Like that's that's just a simple logic. you know if if King Charles were
56 to be king of America we would have to return to England. I know that most of us are like were you talking about? We fought our way out of that. Yes, we did. I'm just giving you an Earthly example, but if Yeshua is going to return his King. It makes sense that for his kingdom to come he has to come. And so that he can be king of his kingdom here. But the second part is is that there's another thing which has happened actually. More often than you would suspect in British history. So I'm gonna go again with a British example. There has been Kings or queens of England.
43 That were rejected or not acknowledged as king or queen. And they were sent into exile. But they would come back later and reestablished their throne in Britain in England. When they would come back there's you have that part, but also the people. Have to come back into alignment with the King if the people remain outside of alignment with the King. Then the king's not going to come back. Because the people don't want them back. And so you have this kind of duel from from the top down or from the bottom up understanding that the King has to return but also the people have to return to the
30 king. In order for the kingdom of God to be here today as it already is in heaven. So this is the this is kind of the the foundation that we're looking at here in the Book of Luke. And we come here to Luke chapter 11. So this this past Wednesday, we did Luke 11 verses 1 through 4, and we spend an hour and a half on those four verses and if you weren't there you missed it. It was a it was a great. I don't think it was a great time, but These are sees some of my favorite verses and really also the the reference in Matthew chapter 6 because this is what's known as The Lord's Prayer. And so what I'm going to do is I'm going to go back because actually we're today covering versus five
17 through 13, but five through 13 really depends on verses 1 through 4. So we're going to do a quick recount of recount. We're gonna do a quick recount. of verses 1 through 4 and to better understand what verses 5 through 13 are so let's let's look at verses 1 through 4 first one time. Yeshua was in a certain place praying As he finished one of the tomidines said to him, sir or master or Lord teach us to pray. Just as yokanan taught his Tommy Dean. He said to them when you pray say father. May your name be kept holy. May your kingdom
04 come give us each day the day we the the food we need. Forgive us our sins for we too forgive everyone who is wronged us and do not lead us to hard testing. So just so you know, there's also the parallel passage in Matthew chapter 6. And and I can start it in all almost all of you could finish it. And it goes like this our father. See and now I know how how you learned it who art in Heaven. It's the same way. I learned it. Hallowed be thy name thy kingdom come thy will be done. On Earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread.
52 and forgive us our trespasses as as we forgive those who have trespassed against us trespass. That's another one. For thine is the kingdom man. We use lots of thighs and dines in this one. Is the kingdom to come? Oh lead is not into temptation. Oh, yeah, that's right. There's the lead us not into temptation. Yeah, you guys all sound like you got it. But do you realize what I just did with you? I said our father. And what did you do? You did the rest. Just on the simple fact that I said our father.
37 Now I want you to know. before I get into this teaching I get up here every Shabbat. And I start every prayer almost every prayer. With anybody know what I started with. a Venus shabbosamine Our Father in heaven For The Purpose By the way, you notice if you look if you read through the gospels Yeshua, does this all the time? Paul does it in his writings. He'll start a verse referencing back to the Tanakh and expect that your brain finishes it while he continues onward. For the for the purpose. He's recalling that for the for the establishment or the foundation of what he's moving forward with.
25 It's not just the one verse it's not just the two words that he is referencing is actually the whole section. That's often the case. So I do the same thing. partially because it puts it puts us in in Concept in rhythm with Yeshua. First of all Yeshua tells us how to pray and that's what we're going to talk about here for a minute. Yeshua says which we just went through but in this passage you Sueur says father Sanctified be your name, but before that I just want to take a look at the context here for just for a moment. He is on his way to Jerusalem. We know that I think it's in chapter 9 and somewhere
11 in the later verses it says that Yeshua turn and set his face toward Jerusalem. And so from that point on. Yeshua is in that progression from that point going up to Jerusalem. And so we're we're in that we're somewhere in between where he turned and said his face and to when he arrives and that place geographically Where We Are Is here in verse 1 a certain place? Don't you love it when the scripture says? There's a certain place. It's like we're supposed to know what that certain place is. Now I can make all sorts of. Suggestions and I will I'll
59 make well, I'll make one suggestion. Partially because I think it was in last week's storm portion. But you notice with Abraham Isaac and Jacob. They often come to a certain place. And they meet the Lord in a certain place. So I wonder I just wonder this is a general wonderment. If if she was somewhere around that certain place that certain places is generally known as Beitel Bethel. Kind of like in the center of Israel. But the text tells us that's it. He's in a certain place. Okay, so let's we
45 don't we don't want to hang too much of our understanding on exactly where it is because the scripture just tells us He is uncertain place. Who's with him? you by the way, these are questions that you should ask every Every time you're reading the scripture you should like as a Grade School student. I was taught you always ask who what where when How why? I think that's all of them. Like those are great questions who always have when you're reading the scripture. So who's with him? Well, it seems at this point. It doesn't exactly say but it says one of his disciples said to Yeshua. So it seems like this is a smaller group. It's no longer the the
32 multitudes if you will that that seem to have been following Yeshua now, it looks like it's it's a small group perhaps it's his disciples maybe a slightly larger group. But it seems smaller and it says one of his disciples said to issue a teach us to pray. Just as John taught his students. So fundamentally, what are they asking they're asking Yeshua to teach them to pray like there's a very simple question very simple answer. But it's not exactly. so simple because there's a lot of rabbis at this time period
17 Who have some different forms of what to do and how to do it and so they're coming to issue where they said look John told us this way. How is it that you tell us? Now it's interesting because on Wednesday night. We someone asked a question. What was the way that John told them and I said, I don't know because I don't I don't think I ever see it in the scripture. How how is it that John taught his disciples to pray? But his response yeshua's response to teach us to pray. is a fourfold response the first being Is the prayer itself? So, what do you pray for? Yeshua says now. You're going to laugh because I'm going to turn text Yeshua into
05 a Texan. For just a moment, but it's grammatically, correct? Okay. Yeshua says when y'all pray you see he's he's fundamentally shifting right here from you. To y'all. Now, I don't think Yeshua knows about all y'all. but but do you understand the difference? He's going from singular to plural in terms of the way. He's identifying here. Which is important to note. when y'all pray and then he goes through and he says give us forgive us do not lead us. And he goes through all of these and you notice what
52 are all of those? Give us lead us. Do not lead us forgive us. They're all plural. They're all in in reference to a communal identification. Which is very Jewish. You know, in fact as I was studying for this passage, I think I told the group on Wednesday night one of the commentators that I that I was looking at. She's a Jewish agnostic New Testament scholar, I think that's I think that's how she calls herself. And she doesn't believe in Yeshua, like that's for for our intents and purposes. That's that's the key part.
39 She goes. I was raised in Massachusetts. And she goes and we said this prayer in school every day. She was I thought it was a little funny that everybody was saying a Jewish prayer in school. Because I never realized that it was called The Lord's Prayer until I got older. And realized where it comes from. That's how Jewish the prayer is. She just assumed everybody else was doing a Jewish prayer. which that's a funny thing to assume Living in America but but that's because in Jewish prayer. Generally speaking the communal need or the communal.
28 Yeah, the communal need is prioritized differently. Than the way we prioritize. our needs in the West So when we generally pray now, I'm still doing the Wii which is funny. When we generally pray we go to the Lord and say Lord. my car broke I can't pay my water bill. I need $20 so I can buy lunch. It's generally in the terms of I I me. Generally speaking. I recognize that there's not always the case. But that's a it's a fundamental difference between a
13 western mindset in an Eastern mindset, which is which is where Yeshua would have primarily been. and that idea of coming within a group. is actually I don't know. It's almost antithetical to Texans in particular. Because we founded this place. You know, it's by my my bootstraps that I got here and I made everything a success. We got down to one person at a particular Battlefield, which will remain unnamed for the moment. We are down to one person and we held our ground.
02 We're Texans. We don't need anybody else. We're the only state that can still still succeed still secede different s word still succeed. We have our right to to pull away from this government. By the way. This is all this is how we think is Texans. It's I'm like, it's my right. It's it's me and I'm gonna do it all. Nothing's too strong. Nothing's too difficult. I said this on Wednesday night and I'll say it again. I pulled myself up on my bootstraps. I just want to give you give everybody a challenge. When you go home tonight. Try to pull yourself up by your sit on the ground and pull
47 yourself up by your bootstraps and make sure your spouse is taking a video. And then send that video to me. because it's not possible. To pick yourself up by your feet. It's kind of like the idea of digging yourself out of a hole. You ever thought about that you? You're in a hole. And you're digging. It doesn't put you toward the top it puts you further in. you can't dig yourself out of a hole you have to Like get some help to get out of the hole. all of that being said there's this there's a fundamental difference here. This communal need is the priority and
33 within the prayer we place ourselves within the needs of the community. And Yeshua breaks this down and it's super similar. thematically to the amidah which is perhaps the most or one certainly of the top two. most important Jewish prayers of all time The amidah has three different sections. The first is praise we come into His presence with praise the second section, which is really where the bulk of Omar is about 13 our petitions and these are petitions that we come with
21 our personal petition, but we identify within the within the communal need for these items and then it finishes with three prayers of Thanksgiving in other words. We're thankful that the Lord heard our requests. So what we see here. In in this the in this theme here that Yeshua gives us we see holiness. Which is similar to blessing three we see the coming Kingdom which is similar to Blessings 10 through 16. We see provision of food. Or bread which is similar to blessing. Number nine. We see forgiveness of sins, which is a similar to blessing number six, and we see do not lead us into hard testing. I wonder if that's similar to blessing 16
08 which says Lord show us compassion and mercy. You know, it would be compassionate and mercy to merciful for the Lord to not lead us into hard to Temptations or testing. So that's that's the first. Part of the response from Yeshua and he gives what I what I've pointed out is three others number one the importance of persistence number two, the certainty of a positive answer because of God's love and goodness and number three The Ultimate Guide in prayer. Being the ruach hakodesh. So let's look I've spent now a goodly portion on. the lead-up
54 so let's let's get into the passage. Then Yeshua said to them. So let me just stop forgive us our sins as we forgive our everyone indebted to us and lead us not into temptation. Then Yeshua said to them which of you has a friend and will go to him. In the middle of the night and say to him friend lend me three loaves of bread because a friend of mine who has been traveling has just arrived at my house, and I have nothing for him to eat. Now the one inside May answer don't bother me. The door is already shut my children are here with me in bed. I can't get up to give you anything. But I tell you even if he won't get up because the man is his friend yet because of the man's could Spa.
41 His persistence he will get up and give him as much as he needs. Moreover I myself say to you keep asking it will be given to you keep seeking and you will find keep knocking and the door will be open to you for everyone who goes on asking receives and he who goes on seeking finds and to him who continues knocking the door will be opened. We see here immediately. the need for bread You see Yeshua, when he's when when he's asked a question teach us to pray. Yeshua doesn't give four verses and say that's it. Yeshua gives a prayer and then a subsequent action. They tie together hand in hand.
29 Yeshua outlines this prayer to the disciples and even in that prayer it talks about their need for bread. And then immediately following Yeshua gives a parable about receiving bread that is needed. I don't think that's a coincidence. This friend comes in the middle of the night to ask for bread. Because that person has a friend who arrived in the middle of the night. And they have nothing to eat. You see it's important to note in the Middle East. Hospitality is perhaps one of the overarching. Or or underarching elements or pillars in society.
19 You know two years ago half of you would have gotten up and left thinking I had covid because I just coughed. Sorry, listen. It's so horrible that you have to laugh. If you can't laugh then we have other problems. So this friend comes in the night. It's a hospitality is a staple of the culture. In fact, we even see it in last week's Torah portion. Abraham is sitting in the in the opening of his tent. shortly after performing his own circumcision with a rock
04 exactly Now you understand the circumstances. By which Abraham was sitting in the tent door. And he jumps up. And runs to greet these guests. Now you can make an argument that he knows that it's the Lord. I don't know. He just sees three men at first. Maybe maybe he knows maybe he doesn't. but he rushes to prepare food for his surprise guests starting with bread Oh, excuse me.
50 You guys ever get one of those things that like just the tickle that just won't go away. Probably not in the middle of a sermon, huh? This is true. This this. eagerness to not know yet this eagerness to serve and to be Hospital hospitable is still prevalent in the Middle East today. You know if you go to Israel. And in particularly, it's true in the Arab Society. It's true in Israel as well. But in particular you can go through the Arab quarter in Jerusalem. You go down any Street. Any business and you can go go to the business owner in the business owner says what can I sell you?
37 Let me let me sell you something. I make you a good deal. and you say can I have a cup of tea? And that that businessman will will pull almost always will pull you into the back room. And he's got a cup of tea there and you just sit and you just drink tea. no business pressure Just sitting and drinking tea enjoying one another's company. It's still prevalent today. This this culture of hospitality. By the way, if you ever go I definitely recommend it. The tea is fantastic. And just as with prayer we see
22 that the communal needs our prioritized above the individual needs. You see because the individual needs at this moment all of us can identify with? Those into those individual needs are it's the middle of the night. I've got my kids in the bed. The door is bolted shut. I need to sleep. Let me give you a couple examples of what's going on. Number one. One of the commentators that I was reading says that the bolt that would have shut the door would have been this big heavy Bolt. And you know to open it you'd hear that. And everybody in the house is up. Or if you don't do that.
09 And the knocking keeps going. Everybody else in the house is up. you see I don't know about you guys, but I have children. And this past summer. And by the way, also everybody would have been living in the same room maybe in the same bed. Maybe the kids off on the side of the bed. Either way same room this summer. I had the lovely pleasure. Of having my whole family unit of five. In the same room together. Thankfully, we're not sharing a bed. Can I just tell you? when one kid cries how quickly you jump so that they don't wake the other ones up.
57 You're like no no no, no, no, no. It's okay. It's just a bad dream. But Dad no, no, wake up your brother. And sure enough. the baby wakes up Once a baby's awake everybody's awake like it's it's impossible to recover from that. But you can understand from a from a parental standpoint why this man says stop banging on the door? You're gonna wake all the kids up. But then Yeshua follows it up with. keep knocking
43 I'll tell you I've learned one lesson. While I've learned lots of lessons. One of the lessons I've learned from our Elder Dave. Is to make them tell you no. you see because most people are not accustomed to that. Let me give you another example. I in fact, I didn't even go into this with the idea of making them tell me no. we had just gotten married Brittany and I and I had a new stove. Well, it is about two or three years old. And I grew up in my house with a griddle on the stove. So you make pancakes and you know a sorts of things that you make on a griddle.
31 My stovetop didn't come with a griddle. And so I went into we were in there looking for washer and dryer or something. at Lowe's And I look I'm like that's my same stove. It's got a griddle. on this on the on the floor model So I go home. I give my model number of my stove and and I come back to the to the Lowe's guy and say listen. This is what I got. I bought it here. Three years ago, but mine didn't come with a griddle. I was like I was like, do you know where I can buy a griddle? Listen? I was just trying to buy one. Here's what let me go look it up. So he goes back there. He types in on stuff and Here's you can't buy them. They come with the stovetop. and I was like
18 but didn't come with mine. I was thinking to myself. How do I get one like where I just want to griddle? I'll pay you a hundred dollars for it. I just want to riddle. And here's you know what? Let me just look something. He does some more typing. Is you know what I'm just gonna give you this floor model griddle. You just take that it's yours. And I was like, huh? Like I don't know that I'd ever experienced that level of nicety from a big box store. in America but if I hadn't have continued to ask and really I wasn't asking for it for free. I wanted to pay for it and I even asked him I said how much can I pay you for it? And he was I don't know because it's
05 the floor model. Here's so just take it. And I was like, yes, sir. Thank you very much. Let me get out of here before you change your mind. But be persistent. now I'm gonna say all of this is going in a singular Direction. This isn't you praying and saying Lord. I need my Skittles today. I just need to Taste the rainbow just today. Like this is not what I'm talking about. The purpose we see at the end of this section. And we'll get there in just a minute. Let's let's keep going moreover.
51 I myself say to you keep asking. I'm gonna reread these two verses for you keep asking and it will be given to you keep seeking and you will find keep knocking in the door will be open to you for everyone who goes on asking receives and he who goes on seeking finds and to him who continues knocking the door will be opened. Is there any father here who if his son asked him for a fish would instead of a fish give him a snake? Or if he asks for an egg, would he give him a scorpion? So if even though you who are bad know how to give your children gifts that are good how much more will the father keep giving the ruachakota from Heaven to those who keep asking him? You see this is the purpose here.
36 Is to ask continually for the ruach hakodesh. But before we get into that, let's just take just a general moment here for to look at this how he talks about. How do Earthly fathers behave? He says if your kid asks you for a fish. Are you gonna give him a snake? You know? I don't know if how many of you have been fishing here in Texas, but particularly in the summertime you can go fishing. And you can hook a snake. Because they're there. or you know fish swim through and you're gonna be like, oh son. There's your son goes Dad. Give me a fish and you go. There's the fish. There's a snake let's throw you in where the snake
22 is. Like I don't know a dad who would do that. And the reality is is there are some bad dads out there, but I don't know one who would even do that? And then he talks about. Get who would give a scorpion for an egg. and he says if you Who were bad know how to give your children gifts that are good how much more will the father so this is a this is an argument, by the way in Judaism in Jewish. Thought it's called Cola. It's the it's this light to heavy argument, and it's actually one of hillel's rules when when looking through a passage.
07 About looking to see if it's there. And essentially this is this is what it says essentially this rule posits that what applies and a less important case the light or the Lesser will apply in a more important case the heavy or the heavier. In other words, if a father who is evil knows how to give his kids good gifts. How much more so will our father in Heaven who is good? Give his kids good gifts. So the question immediately that should follow is what is the good gift? And Yeshua answers right here. How much more will your heavenly father give the ruach hakodesh to those who ask him? You see the whole driving purpose of all of this is for the
53 ruach to be present in our lives. in both the prayer and the action The accompanying action the purpose is for the ruach's presence in our lives. And not just in my life but in our lives. So if our father in Heaven loves us more than any Earthly father could possibly love this then when we ask persistently he will give us the good gift of the ruach. so how to borrow to borrow the title
38 of a book how then should we pray We should be consistent. persistent and expectant in our prayers We should pray consistently. This is what Yeshua is is connecting with us with the amidah. The amidah by the way is prayed three times a day. And it has its origins or its roots. Going back even to Babylon. You see in Babylon in Daniel chapter. when Daniel chapter 6 Verse 11. It says Daniel.
23 prayed three times daily facing Jerusalem so the custom has been around since that time period The praying three times daily, the amida is identified as prey three times daily. My question is is are we consistently or regularly praying and connecting with the Lord? You see because if we're not praying and connecting with the Lord. Then we're not building a relationship with him. You see if I want to have a successful marriage with my wife. I'm going to talk to her. often consistently regularly about lots of different things about things that we both agree on
09 about things that we disagree on. we're going to have knocked down arguments and then we're gonna have great discussions about where we're going in the future. and all of that builds our relationship if we allow it to if we allow it to because we both hold one another in mutual respect. And so if I hold my wife. In a respectful mindset, and she completely disagrees with me. and if I know That the Lord is working in her life. Then I have to reconcile in me. How is it that she can completely disagree with me?
57 A hundred percent follow the lord and a hundred percent disagree with me. You see there's if I believe I'm a hundred percent following the Lord and she believes. She's a hundred percent following the Lord. But we are on opposite ends of the Spectrum in terms of an argument. We have to be able to see the Lord in one another. Because if we don't then that's the beginning of the end of the relationship. Because we'll ignore that person and we'll continue on on our own path. And as our path continues, we'll continue to separate. Whereas the other way is if we recognize it in one another man. I don't understand. I've had this conversation with my wife. I don't understand how you can believe that.
44 That is against the Bible. Which which goes great in my house because I went to Seminary and she didn't. you see that goes against the Bible. And she'll look at me and go. No, it doesn't. Show me where it goes again. Well, it goes in this and this is my yeah, I don't think that means what you think it means. And then she'll give me questioning. But we're having you see we couldn't have that discussion. If I wasn't willing to listen to her. and sometimes
30 hey, buddy. Oh great. You walk in right as I'm talking about you. Okay, let me change my story. No, I'm just fine. But the reality is we can fundamentally disagree on a couple different things and we do. But we can still raise our children to love the Lord with all of our hearts. Because we do that. And we may disagree and we'll we'll go back and forth and and the reality is and some of our disagreements. We have not come into agreement yet. And she has yet to see the light of my side.
17 but but this is what happens when you have a regular consistent relationship with one another and God wants that with us. And in order to get that we have to spend time with him. You see I can't have that relationship where I where I go where I where I go. Brittany is fundamentally wrong. If I haven't talked to Brittany in the last year. Man, we're gonna there's gonna be other issues that come out of that. Hey, buddy, what's up? So my question is is are we consistently in regularly praying and connecting with the Lord?
06 Here's another question and this is primarily. in regards to those of us who live in the West Do we approach the Lord with the appropriate reverence? you see again in our society we through off the king. America we we got rid of our King. We didn't want that one. And so we live our lives the same way and sometimes wonder if we live our spiritual lives the same way. We did away with that. We don't need that. Okay, no talking. We did away with that. We don't need that level of authority in our
51 lives. in reality The Lord Is Holy totally other totally different than anything and everything that we can imagine. I I approach our relationship as if between King and subject, but that's even just a light argument. That's not the heavy argument of between us and the Lord. Do we ever express our appreciation to the Lord? You know, I think we come to this time of year and maybe we end up thankful for one thing. And then we have family dinners and we realize oh my gosh family is a mess.
38 Like can I really be thankful. for this mess and the reality is is yes, you can. Despite how messy it is. You can totally be thankful. Go see Mom. In our consistent and regular praying are we praying only for ourselves? Or are we praying for the well-being? of the people the people of Israel the the body of Messiah You see in the Ami die. It's placed within the context of the people of Israel. And I would I would argue that we can expand that context to include the body of Messiah.
26 That we come to the Lord and we pray. For the needs of Our People Israel and the body of Messiah. We should pray consistently and persistently we should continue to ask to seek and to knock until the Lord grants our requests for the move of the ruach the holy spirit in our midst. You see that's what Yeshua is looking for. That's what our father is looking for as if we can actually be diligent enough to to continue to knock to continue to ask you see I let me give you let me give you a deprecating example.
12 Self-deprecating I was involved in a prayer meeting. I think I've shared this story before I was about 16 17 18 somewhere in that time period And I was in Israel, and there was a there was a dear friend of our family who she was having a major health concerns and she was about to die and she was going into surgery and so we we did this all night prayer vigil. And I said, yes, I'm going to be there and hey, how many of you ever done? Well, maybe don't don't raise your hands. If you ever done it all night prayer vigil. You understand you can get what Sleepy tired. I'm sitting there the presence of the Lord is there. I'm I'm on my on my face before
58 the Lord and all of a sudden I'm snoring. And for some of you you know, how loud I can snore. I have one of my really good friends comes over and he shakes me he goes, dude. You got to stop snoring. And I was like, I'm sorry. I was really praying and he goes no you were snoring. I heard it. You see we can get tired. Yeshua's disciples do the same thing. Yes. She was says pray for one hour. By the way, it's a middle of the night when he says pray for one hour. He said pray for one hour and he goes off and he comes back in there. What? They're snoring. He says you can't even you can't even be persistent enough for one hour. by the way
44 We should be careful how hard we laugh at the dust at the disciples because we do the same thing. So pray persistently. And we should pray expectantly. We should come to the Lord expecting. Him to answer us, especially when we are seeking to receive the move of the ruach in our midst. If that's our objective you see in the in the Matthew version. it says Was the phrase I was looking for?
32 It just lost it. anyways We should pray consistently. We should pray. persistently and we should pray expectantly. Oh you see I did that. I got three good ones. Persistently consistently consistently persistently and expectantly. And all of that is true when we align ourselves to the will of the Lord. Oh, that's thank you. That's thank you Lord you ever notice that sometimes Lord answers if you just keep going. the quickest way through the quickest way to the other side is to go through. by the way When we pray the Lord's Prayer your will be done.
22 Do you know what that immediately? disregards our will and so when we pray your will be done what it is is it's us shifting ourselves into alignment with the Lord's will. and if we do that he's going to answer us every time. But we have to like it takes a lot. I don't know about for you. But for me as a born and bred Texan whose independent and I pulled myself up on my bootstraps. It takes a lot. for me to bend my will to match the Lord's. And sometimes it's to the point. Where it hurts a little bit.
09 and the Lord says you know why it hurts. Because you're over there and not with me. so we if we consistently persistently and expectantly seek the Lord. And allow his will to be done. He will answer us each and every time. avinasha, Mayim Our Father in heaven Lord we come to you. on this Shabbat Lord we ask that you. That your will would be done. Here on Earth as it is in heaven.
54 Lord we seek for your kingdom to come. For Yeshua to come and Reign upon his throne in Jerusalem. Lord we seek for all of the Nations. To come up and acknowledge Yeshua as Messiah and king of the world. And to bend the knee and bow. And confess that Yeshua is the Lord. Or we ask that you would continue to teach us to pray and to act in accordance with your word. in our daily actions We bless you and We Praise You In yeshua's name. amen
40 May the Lord bless you and keep you may the Lord make his face shine upon you and be gracious to you. May the Lord lift up his countenance upon you and give you peace. if I recognize they should Mar. If I don't know if another lacha movie hun. He saw tonight.
34 in the name of our Messiah Yeshua shabbat shalom
