We are doing a father and son trip here in the US. We've been in a conference in Alleluia Community in Augusta, Georgia, and then wanted to spend a few more days together here. And when Rabbi Ari invited me to speak today, I said it's a great privilege because we are not celebrating only Shabbat, but we are celebrating also the 250 years of the Day

1:33 of Independence. So, it's a great privilege. And I would like to share with you and speak with you about these three things. So this is our plan for today. First of all, I have a question for you. Do you know who celebrated the first Independence Day in America, and when, and where? You will hear it in a minute. And then we will come to the history of Moravian Brothers and their influence in America. And then we will share with some biblical principles of the Kingdom of God in our daily lives. So this is our plan for today, and may the Lord bless us.

2:19 So here is the answer to the first question. The first Independence Day was celebrated on the 4th of July, 1783, by Moravian Brothers. So now, Cheryl, where are you, Cheryl? She has her roots in Moravia, in Bohemia. And is anybody else here who has roots in Czechia, Czech Republic, Czechoslovakia? Very good. So you will learn a little bit more about your history. And these brothers came originally from Europe in 1735, and they celebrated the first Independence Day in the town which they founded, and it's called

3:05 Salem. Now it's called Winston-Salem. And do you know how they celebrated this day? Not with fireworks and hot dogs. But they compiled a worship service, a concert service called Psalm of Joy, and the whole town joined in the celebration. And they did not celebrate the victory of the British, but they worshiped a God who gave us peace and shalom. And this is one of the prayers that they prayed, and I wish that when we are coming back to our roots, the roots of

3:51 the first celebration of Independence Day, they prayed this prayer. So I would like to pray this prayer, and you can join me, that we will pray for this young country called America. 250 years, comparing to many European countries, not big, but that is a huge thing. So let's pray. Lord, grant our country unity, and pour out your richest blessing upon it. You give peace, therefore, let there be peace in this land of ours. We are grateful for your strengthening presence in all circumstances and for giving us the strength to do all things. We praise

So this is how Moravian Brothers celebrated the first Independence Day, and there was a whole concert they compiled, the concert called Psalm of Joy. So who are these Moravian Brothers? Short glimpse into the history, because they are very special. And this is their logo. The expression of their life message is, "May the Lamb that was slain receive the reward of His suffering." And

5:25 we'll come back to this sentence in a minute, so we will see them, but before we start speaking about Moravian Brothers, you need to know where is Moravia. So this is Europe. And you see where the Czech Republic, it used to be Czechoslovakia. My mother is from Czech. My father is from Slovakia. But in 1993, we separated, so there is a separate state called Czech Republic. And the western part is called Bohemia, and the eastern part is called Moravia. It comes to the ancient, great Moravia in the 9th century, but still today, it's called Moravia. And this is the part from the Moravian Brothers in 1722 escaped to the green part called

6:13 Saxony And in Saxony, they created a first settlement called Herrnhut. But a little bit more from the history why they escaped. You probably know this man, and you know that the Christian world is very much divided. You have a Catholic and Orthodox Church, and out of the Catholic Church, in 1517, Protestant Church was separated, and Martin Luther started the Protestant Reformation. He was a Catholic priest, Catholic monk, and he was a prophet who Catholic Church wasn't able to hear, and they excommunicated him. And here starts in 16th

7:01 century, Protestant Reformation. But what happened afterwards was that in 17th century started a great wars between Catholics and Protestants. One severely bad was called Thirty Years' War, and it was in 1620 and started near Prague on the White Mountain Battle. And Catholics won over the Protestants, and they had to hide. And in 1722, group of brothers, Moravian Brothers, they are escaping to Saxony, and this man, he was a Count Nicolaus Ludwig von Zinzendorf, he gave them a property and said, "You can live here.

7:49 You can build your houses here." And this city is called Herrnhut. And why Herrnhut is so important, after five years of living there, they experienced a spiritual awakening. While they were walking to church on Sunday, the spirit of the Lord fall on them, and they reconcile to each other, and they decided that they will start pray 24/7. And this was 100 years long, 24/7 for 100 years in Herrnhut. And Moravian Brothers were very special, and Count Zinzendorf, he really loved Jewish people.

8:36 So they were spreading the gospel, preaching the gospel, but Zinzendorf told them, "Hey, do not force Jewish people to renounce their Jewishness." In the 18th century, he was a pioneer of this. When they gave their life to Jesus, to their Messiah, Yeshua, and found that Yeshua is their Messiah, he created for them so-called Kallas, where they could maintain the Jewish traditions. And the Moravian Brother, they lived in strong expectation of second coming of Messiah. And in their theology, Jews played a significant and

9:23 key role. And they really believe that before the second coming, there will be great awakening among the Jewish people. Here are two statements of Zinzendorf. You can read them. "Our Savior is a Jew, and we cannot despise His people." And the second, "We should treat the Jews with tenderness and love, not with harshness." So Moravian Brothers really had a nice relationship to the Jewish people. And as I said, as they prayed 24/7, after 10 years in 1732, they started to send missionaries to different countries. And out of this small community, let's say 600

10:11 members, they send out 220 missionaries. At that time, sending a missionary meant, I will never see you again. And here is one story which I really like. First missionaries who were sent in 1733 wanted to go to the island of Saint Thomas. Because they discovered there are many slaves there, but only slaves could get to this island. So they were willing to sell themselves into the slavery so they could bring the gospel to them. And as they were

10:58 standing on the ship in the harbor of Copenhagen, which is the capital of Denmark now, they raised their hands and shouted, "May the Lamb that was slain receive the reward of His suffering." I'm saying, wow, these brothers really loved Messiah. And another group of missionaries came also to America. In 1735, the first group of Moravian Brethren landed in Savannah in Georgia. And they send a message and said, "You can send more missionaries." So second group is coming in 1736. And this time on the boat, there is a young man, young preacher,

11:45 and his name was John Wesley. Is it familiar with you, this name? And he was deeply moved by the Moravian Brothers. And he wrote in his diary how fascinated he was by their behavior. "They were humble," he wrote in his diary. "They were humble, willingly performed the most menial jobs on the ship, for which they refused money, and no one could upset them." This was his observation of this group who they call themselves Moravian Brothers. And the most important moment was the storm at the sea. The huge wave crashed into the ship and tore the main sail, and water

12:30 began to flood the deck. People screamed in horror and said goodbye to life. Do you know what Moravian Brothers did? They had their church service and peacefully sang psalms and spiritual songs. And Wesley then came to them and said, "Haven't you been scared?" And they said, "We believe in Yeshua. We are not scared of death. Are you? Are you a believer?" And we know that John Wesley later founded a Methodist church, and as well the worldwide mission. So this group of prayerful, simple men and women of God, they influenced John Wesley. And these Moravian Brothers, they

13:19 arrived to Savannah, Georgia, and later in 1740, they moved to Pennsylvania. And first city which they founded was called Bethlehem, and then they founded Nazareth. And what is really important and interesting that in 1742, they introduced strict observance of Shabbat in Bethlehem, in addition to the Sunday worship. And in 1753, they purchased a large land in North Carolina and founded a third town called Salem. And here we are. This is the city where they celebrated, in 1783, the first day of independence.

14:07 The same approach that they had towards Jewish people, that they were not trying to force them to forsake their Jewishness, they adopted it also towards Indians. They did a lot of missions to the Indians, especially to Delawares and Mohicans, and their mentality was not the mentality of colonists. They learned their language, and they created alphabet for them, and they translated the Bible into their language and the Christian songs, and they taught them how to worship God. And Moravian Brothers had a great influence on society. So this is for me really beautiful that

14:53 when somebody is really radically living for Yeshua, and is a man and woman of prayer, your influence can shape the society. And Moravian Brothers were pioneers of education in the United States. One of their former bishops, still in 17th century, was called Jan Amos Comenius. I don't know if you heard this name, but he's very famous, especially in Netherlands and Poland and Czech Republic, because he was the pioneer of education. And they believed, first of all, that education should be available to all. At that time, only men were sent for the education, and they said, "No, we must educate also girls

15:39 in our schools." And they established the first school for young ladies in 1742, and it's still, till today, the oldest school in the United States. They had a really good education, so it become a school for elite. And the first American president, George Washington, sent his daughters and nieces to study there because at the time, girls were not allowed to study, and he saw how excellent school they have, and he sent his daughters and nieces to study there. And why these schools were so revolutionary? First of all, there was a prohibition of physical

16:24 punishment. And at that time, beating of students was a common practice. And Moravian Brothers strictly prohibited physical punishment, and teachers were expected to treat children with love and patience. And this was two centuries ahead, how they did their schools. And one important thing they emphasized was also on the music and the arts. And every child in Moravian school was required to play a musical instrument and sing in the choir, and as a result, their schools produced excellent worship leaders and excellent musicians. This is amazing.

17:11 Let's come to us. This is a history, and we can look at the history and say, "Oh yeah, Moravian Brothers, they were good." But I'd like to take us now, here. What we can learn from them and what God wants to do among us in our days. So I will start with the scripture from Genesis 1:27. "God created humankind in his image, in the image of God, he created them." So we are created into his image. We are created to worship God. It means to be aware that God delights in us, that he is a good

17:57 father. And the most important thing is what we worship, we become. Once I was going home during the weekend in the night from some prayer meeting, and a neighbor from the house was laying on the ground. So I run to him, I saw that something happened to him, and I discovered that he is drunk, completely drunk. And I told him, "Oh, man, if you would believe in Yeshua, your life can look completely different." And he said, "Ugh, what are you telling to me? I believe in Yeshua." I said, "Yeah, I see that you believe in God because you really look like your God."

18:45 You will become what you worship. You will become like your God. And do you know that there are more than 250 names of God or his attributes or what describes him in the Bible? Once I took this list of 250 attributes and names of God to our small group, and I said, "Choose which is the most dearest one, which attribute or name of God you like the most." And they picked, and then they shared, and I asked them, "And can you tell us why this is so dear to you?" And they described it and said, "Whatever you worship, you become." This is your calling, to become like God. You are created into his

19:31 image. And I'm saying that all of us are called into the full-time ministry, but only a few in the area of church or congregation. But you are called to the full-time ministry in the school or in your business or in politics or as a doctor, a nurse, or wherever you are, because every one of us is displaying the name and character of God. Sometimes people have problem to think, like, "Can a politician be a Christian?" Or, "A judge be a Christian? He can forgive all those people who did some crimes?" Because they are somehow connecting the priest

20:19 or the rabbi who is speaking about mercy and grace and think, "Oh, he will give mercy to all those people." No, no. If somebody is called to be a minister, he needs to display the great high priest, which is Yeshua, who is giving us mercy. But in other areas, we are called to display other things. For example, now we will go through several different professions or callings which we can have, but you can find some of yours. You can identify with some of those because you are in that profession. But there are many others, and I will encourage you to seek what is the character of God which you are called to display.

21:05 So in the area for every politician or everybody who is involved in politics, the name of God, which you are supposed to reveal into your sphere of influence, is that he is the King of Kings. And I will also mention several biblical principles, how this world is thinking, and what is the kingdom mindset. If you would like to know the biblical principles, just turn upside down all the principles in this world, and you will have the kingdom principles. So for example, this is the one. In this world, God has chosen me to bless me. In the kingdom, God has chosen me to bless you. For example, Rabbi Ari, his chosen one to lead his congregation.

21:51 How many of you have been blessed by him? He has chosen him to bless you. But imagine that there will be another rabbi here who have this mindset, earthly mindset, "God has chosen me to bless me," and he will, instead of equipping you and blessing you, he will try that, "You would serve to me, and I am the boss here, and I am the king." But no, Yeshua is saying, "Whoever wants to be the first must be the last," and he was washing the feet of his disciples. I really love the passage where Queen of Sheba is coming to King Solomon, and in 1 Kings, chapter 10, verse 9, it says, "Blessed be Adonai your God, who delighted in you to

22:38 set you on the throne of Israel." So she is prophesying to him and saying, "God loves you, man, and therefore he wanted for you to be a king." Did you ever thought why God has chosen David, a shepherd, to be a king? Because nobody would write the Psalms of shepherd to the Bible. But the Psalms of king, yes. And God really pick him up to show to all people, "Look how the man after my heart is thinking, how he's doing his decisions, how he's praying, how he's caring for people." He wanted to display something of his nature and to display the King of

23:25 Kings to the people. So Queen of Sheba is saying, "God loves you, and he's really delighted in you. And do you know why you are a king? He delighted you to set you on the throne of Israel, and it is because of Adonai's everlasting love for Israel that he made you a king to do justice and righteous." All the politicians are here to bring justice and righteous. And you probably know from the scriptures that righteousness and justice are the foundation of God's throne. Because God loves Israel, he established the kings. This is the calling of every authority, to care, to protect, to equip, to raise, to bless,

24:11 to be for the people. So serve with the heart of king and rule with the heart of servant if you are called to be a politician. And what are the gifts that God wants to empower you? Because we are not doing our ministry here in our human strength and effort. We are here to bring the Kingdom of God into this Earth. Are you praying on Earth as it is in heaven, "Thy kingdom come"? Some people are saying, "Oh, my desire is that one day I will go to the Kingdom of God in heaven." We are saved by grace, and we are already saved, and our seed is with the right hand of the Father, as Ephesians says. But our task is to bring kingdom into our world, that we will change our

24:59 environments, where we are, our families, our businesses, whatever, and bring the kingdom principles and blessing there. So if you are a politician or called into politics, first thing that Solomon asked was the wisdom. I believe that all the politicians have the inbuilt desire for wisdom. See how many kings of the nations were sitting at the feet of Solomon, and they wanted to learn from him. In our city, our mayor, we have a new mayor, but with the previous mayor, I made a good relationship with him. He was not practicing Christian,

25:44 but I told him, "Mr. Mayor, I'm willing to pray here. We are praying for you as a community and the churches, but I wish we can pray in your office. Do you know why? Here is this darkness which is trying to inspire you with anger, and bitterness, and resentment, and don't do it, it's a waste of time. But it's also God, which wants to inspire you with wisdom and discernment and give you good creativity and inspiration. And if we will pray here in your office, there will be an open heaven here, and you can really receive inspiration from God. In His light, we see light, says the scripture. So if we will lift the name of God here in this

26:32 place, you will receive more wisdom and discernment and understanding. Do you want that we will pray here?" And he said yes. So since that time, every month, the church leaders, we are gathering in his office, and for one hour, we are there. We share a little bit, we drink a coffee, and then we pray for him, for wisdom, and protection for him and his family and so on. And even though he was a non-believer, he said, "Yes, I wish that you will pray for me." Because many politicians are receiving a lot of curse and other bad things, and we are always praying to protect him because we want that he will receive an inspiration from God to do righteousness and justice because he loves people from our city.

27:17 And this is what Paul is saying to Timothy, please pray, first of all, for the kings and for those who are in high positions so you can live a peaceful life. If you are, for example, in business, what is the name of God which you should display to your employees? Adonai Yireh. In this world, the less you give, the more you have. In the kingdom, the more you give, the more you will have. In Acts chapter 20, it said, "Remembering the words of the Lord Yeshua, that He Himself said, 'It is more blessed to give than to receive.'" So now imagine two businessmen. One is displaying the name and

28:04 the character of Adonai Yireh. The second one is displaying another God who is he worship, and he's called Mammon. Mammon means greed. Adonai Yireh means the provider. So the businessman who has his employees, he's thinking how he can bless his employees, how he's thinking to God that He is giving him enough wisdom and creativity and boldness that he can do his business so his employees can be blessed and he can bless the society. The businessman who is worshiping another God, even if he doesn't know it, he's using the employees for his benefit. God has chosen me to bless me, and he is

28:49 using all the employees to serve him. And all the natural resources of the Earth, he will just use them, and he's not thinking about the ecology and the future of the Earth. But somebody who is displaying God, whose name is Adonai Yireh, is caring also for the planet. He's thinking ecologically. He wants to sustain our planet and the resources that we are receiving. Do you see the difference how somebody who is called to display the name of God and his attributes in his business? And what are the gifts that if you are a businessman, what do you need to think about is discernment, intuition, and

29:37 creativity. Because God wants to bless you to bless the others. It's not about, God, thank you that you blessed me so much, and I will really enjoy all of my money. You are praying, Our Father, give me our daily bread. So if suddenly are 100 loaves of bread on your table, you are saying to God, "Am I a bakery? Or why are you giving me so much bread? I can eat only one." Oh, it's to bless the others. And the Lord will bless you if you will start blessing others because it's your calling. In our community, we have a friend, and I believe that he has an apostolic calling into the area of business. Do you know that spiritual gifts are not stopped working when you go out of your synagogue? You can still use them

30:26 in society, your intuition, creativity, prophetic insight, and so on. And I believe that he has apostolic calling, but not for the church or for the ministry, but in business. What is the calling of apostle? To start new congregations, new churches, and he's building one business after the other and employing more people and giving them what they need. So pray that God will bless you to bless others. Imagine that I am a preacher and I will say to God: "Oh God, I don't want any more anointing. It's enough for me, and I will be satisfied by this." Isn't it selfish? Isn't it my call that I'll be more blessed,

31:14 more anointing, more wisdom, more studying of Bible so you can be more blessed? And imagine that a businessman says, "Oh, God, I have enough. I don't want to be blessed more." Isn't it selfish? You are called, you have gifts and talents, so there are so many needs there. We just heard testimony from Israel, and I am so grateful that you are investing into things like this in Israel. There are so many other ministries that can be blessed. But you can say, "I'm not a businessman. I'm not a politician. I'm just a normal cleaner." Do you know that Yeshua also did some cleaning in temple? Here is another biblical principle. In this world,

32:00 if I have an unclean hand and I touch something clean, what happens? The clean thing become unclean. So what do you need to do to stay clean? Sit at the last row so I will not touch you. But in the kingdom, it works the other way around. If I have a dirty hand and I touch something clean, my hands become clean. And this is the reason why Yeshua was not afraid to touching unclean people, prostitutes and the lepers, because he know that they will not make him unclean, but his touch will make them clean. Do you understand that? If you have this mindset, after you commit some sin, we are trying to hide before God because we think, "Oh, I'm unclean, oh God, you cannot touch me." But if you know that, "Oh, I'm

32:48 unclean, I must run into his presence because his touch will make me clean." Now, in Luke 6 it says, everyone in the crowd was trying to touch him because the power flowed from him and he was healing them all. So imagine that you are a cleaner in some big business. Who has the keys from the CEO office? CEO and you. You can enter into his office when he goes home, and whatever you touch, you make it clean. You can pray for his table, for his computer, while you are sweeping the dust and saying, "Lord, bless this man. Bring him a wisdom. Bring him understanding. Make him a man of God." And you can touch everything. So,

33:34 you can ask for intercessory prayer as a gift and gift of discernment and deliverance because you know that whatever you touch, you clean. Another friend of mine, he said, "I'm just working in a grocery shop at the casa, and how can I be a blessing for people?" And I said, "Do you know how many people are not praying before the food? And you are laying hands on each food that they will eat afterwards." You can be a blessing everywhere. You just need to be aware who is living inside of you. Imagine that you are a craftsman. Yeshua worked also as a carpenter. And in this world, this world values uniformity. In Slovakia, we have

34:22 90-60-90. I Googled a little bit. You have 34-24-34, the measurement of models who are in the competitions of beauty and so on. And so this world likes uniformity and everything the same. God loves originality, and he works with excellence. I don't know if you noticed that, but one of the first people who were anointed and filled with the Holy Spirit in Bible are in Exodus 31st chapter. Then Adonai spoke to Moses saying, "See, I have called by name Betzalel, and I have filled him with the Spirit of God,

35:09 with wisdom, understanding, and knowledge in all kinds of craftsmanship." So, if you are a craftsman, you can ask to be filled with the Ruach HaKodesh, and God will give you creativity and prophetic gifts and creative heart because every artist is creating from the heart, bypassing the mind and creating from the heart. This is why we love songs and dance and paintings because they're expressing something from the heart of the artist. Look on the beautiful nature and you see what God is carrying in his heart when he's creating beautiful nature and you and me, how beautiful is his heart.

35:54 So we will work with wisdom and excellence. Everybody who is working with excellence will be lifted up to the position to the third to the king, says the Proverbs chapter 22. You will not work as an ordinary worker, but people will realize, "Oh, this man or this woman, they are working with a real excellence." If you are a teacher, for example, Yeshua was also the greatest rabbi. And in this world, we see people and we evaluate people, if they're good or bad, according their past. I was working in the company, and when I was receiving new people, new employees, they brought me their curriculum vitae, so I looked to their history and read it a little bit. I spent 10 minutes speaking with that person, and based on their

36:42 history and presence, I created a picture about their future. This is also how the devil works. He shows you all your sins from the past and then tell you, "Look, you will be not a good minister. Look at your life. God cannot use you." But God works differently. He is looking at your life from the future perspective. The glasses which Ezekiel received in chapter 37, "The Ruach Adonai carried me out and set me down in the middle of the valley. It was full of bones. And He said to me, 'Son of man, can these bones live? Prophesy over these bones.' And I prophesied as He said."

37:28 Imagine that you are a teacher, and there are students, and another teacher is saying, "Oh, these kids, there will be nothing from them. It's a bad class." My sister-in-law, she worked as a teacher, and she said, "I will prophesy over them. I will speak good things over them. I will encourage them. I will bless them." So she prayed protection Psalm 91 over them. And another teacher said, "Why you are always receiving the best class? I have such bad students, and you have the best kind." And she said, "How you behave to them, you will reap. So I'm encouraging them. I'm prophesying over them." Not saying prophesying, but really seeing them not as dry bones, but as good students. So if you are a teacher,

38:16 imagine your class is your congregation, and you are entrusted with these disciples, and you need to encourage them and bless them and ask for a good heart of the shepherd and the shepherding gift and the teaching gift with power like they said about Yeshua, "Oh, he's teaching differently like the others." Remember, in his light, we see light. So when you come into the room, you are supposed to be a light of the world. Suddenly, the students are getting light and saying, "Oh, now I understand it." And the parents are calling too and saying, "How is it possible I'm doing the homework with my kid at home, and he cannot get it into his head, but when you are there, they just get it?"

39:01 So, we are coming to the close of our time, so this is the last one which I prepared. Imagine that you are a director or manager. Who wants to be the first must be the first. This is the world principle. But in the kingdom, it works the other way around. Who wants to be the first must be the servant of all. "Who wants to be the greatest among you shall be a servant, just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many." America is called to be a first, calling themselves that we are the first nation, and the greatest, America

39:47 first. There is this story when the mayor of Jerusalem in 1998 came to Rome, and he visited Pope John Paul II. And John Paul II greeted him and said, "I welcome the mayor of the first city in the world." And the mayor of Jerusalem said, "Oh, I thought that Rome is claiming this primacy." And he said, "No, we are only the second. You are the first." I'm saying that if America is called to be great, you are called to serve to all. But at the same time, they must know that in Jeremiah 31:7, it says, "Cry out with joy for Jacob and shout for the

40:34 chief among the nations." How do you feel you are sitting here, and you are a Jewish person and in America? It's amazing. You have a great calling on your life to be a blessing to other nations as the Jewish people, and also to be a blessing to the poor nations because you are the richest nation in the whole world. If you are working as a manager and director, Ruach HaKodesh was hovering over the Earth, and he was bringing order into chaos. Ask for discernment and leadership and pastoral gifts, and also a prophecy, which is for encouraging, building, and comfort.

41:21 So here is some homework for you. What name or attribute of God fascinates you the most? Remember, what you worship, you become. Study the scripture and seek God's principles for your calling. There are many of them in the Bible. And speak to the Lord and tell him, "Lord, teach me. Give me a heart of understanding, and I want to bring the kingdom of God in my family as a mother or in my business or in my school," wherever you are. And what gift and talents could you ask from God so that your work brings kingdom of

42:08 God? Remember, the carpenters were filled with the Holy Spirit to bring different level of excellent work that God blessed them to bring. You can carry the anointing of God in your work. God wants to bless you. There are many gifts, charisms, which God wants to give you to bless the others.
