00 We are continuing today in the book of Luke chapter 22. As a reminder, if this is, if you've been here, as a reminder, if this is your first day here, uh, this will be fresh to you. Uh, we're studying the book of Luke. We're nearing the end. And really we've, we've maintained, uh, or we've understood a particular focus to be, uh, present in the text, which we find in Luke chapter one, verses three and four, which sets the trajectory for the book. Luke is writing to Theophilus and he says, therefore, your excellency, since I've carefully investigated all these things from the beginning, it seemed good to me that I too should write you an accurate and ordered narrative so that, or for the purpose,
50 so that you might know how well-founded or how for sure are the things about which you have been taught. In other words, Theophilus has already been taught these things and Luke is writing to him so that he knows for sure what he's been taught. Perhaps Theophilus is beginning to question, maybe there's some circumstances that have led, uh, to Theophilus having some doubts. But the Book of Luke deals with the inbreaking of the kingdom of heaven, not just from above but in our lives or, um, now I'm putting myself into the context in the lives of, uh, the Israelites at the time, and the, it would require the coming of the kingdom would require the king
37 subjects to bring their lives into an alignment with him as the kingdom is coming. So every time a, a life is brought into an alignment, it advances the kingdom, if you will, so you can understand why Yeshua is reaching out to, uh, those who were, uh, what we would call on the outskirts of society, uh, the prostitutes, the tax collectors, uh, so on and so forth. Yeshua has been traveling really for the bulk of the book of Luke from Galilee down to j I should shouldn't say down, I should say up to Jerusalem. Uh, though you're going geographically south and we are now in
22 Jerusalem or in the area surrounding Jerusalem. And last week we studied the Seder and we talked about the Seder. So what I want to do this week before we get into our text, we're gonna be studying, uh, chapter 22 verses 23 through 38. But one I want to do before that is go back and read and just start because this is all one section and in fact, 22 really all happens, uh, within the span of 12 hours, maybe 16 hours, all of chapter 22. But this part really happens in, in the course of about four or five hours.
11 So let's, let's start reading in verse 14. When the hour came, Yeshua reclined at the table and the emissaries with him, and he said to them, I have eagerly desired to eat this Passover with you before I suffer for I tell you I will never eat it again until it is fulfilled in the kingdom of God. And when he had taken a cup and offered the brca, he said, take this and share it among yourselves for I tell you that I will never drink of the fruit of the vine from now on until the kingdom of God comes. And when he had taken matza and offered the brca, he broke it and gave it to them saying, this is my body given for you. Do this in memory of me. In the same way he took the cup after the meal saying, this is the cup, uh, this cup is the new covenant in my blood,
00 which is poured out for you. But look, the hand of the one betraying me is with mine on the table. For indeed the son of man is going as has been predetermined, but woe to that man by whom he is betrayed. So they began to discuss among themselves, which of them it might be who would do this thing. You can just imagine that discussion. But there was also a quarrel among them about which of them is considered the greatest. And Yeshua said to them, the kings of the nations have mastery over them, and those exercising authority over them are called benefactors. But with you, it is not. So rather, let the one who is greatest among you become like the youngest and the one who
49 leads, like the one who serves for who is greater, the one who reclines or the one who serves, is it not the one who reclines, but I am among you as one who serves. You are the one. You are the ones who have remained with me in my times of testing and just as my father has granted me a kingdom. So I grant to you that you may eat and drink at my table in my kingdom, and you shall sit upon thrones judging the 12 tribes of Israel, Simon and Simon. Indeed, Satan has demanded to sift you all like wheat. But I have prayed for you, Simon, that your faith will not fail and when you have turned back, strengthen your brothers. But Simon said to him, master,
38 I'm ready to go with you even to prison and to death. But Yeshua said, I tell you, Peter, a rooster will not crow today until you have denied three times that you know me. And he said to them, when I sent you out with a money pouch and a travel bag and sandals, you didn't lack anything, did you? They said, no, nothing. Then he said to them, but now whoever has a money pouch must carry it as well as a travel bag. And whoever does not own a sword must sell his cloak and buy one for I tell you that this which is written must be fulfilled in me. And he was counted with the lawless for what is written about me is being fulfilled. But they said, master, look here, two swords.
25 And he said to them, it is enough. We're going to look through this text section by section. We'll start with verses 23 through 30. Yeshua says, I ended last week with talking about the person who's going to betray Yeshua. And he says their hand is on the table with mine. We, we had a conversation last week about what it's like to have a communal meal, not the what we do today where we sit around a table and we each have our own plates and our own set of silverware, uh, but rather a meal that's served on a singular plate where
14 all of us eat with our hands or our hand. Uh, and I gave the reasoning last week, you can go watch last week's message and, and how when you're eating with one another and you're dipping your hands in the same food, how all of a sudden you become much closer with each other. And you can imagine that Yeshua says, the one who's going to betray me has his hand on the dishes in the food. Right? Now, you can just imagine Yeshua's sitting there like this with his hand and everybody goes, Not me. I dunno what you're talking about. Everybody. I don't know if you've ever had an opportunity, uh, to eat like this, uh, then you've experienced a wonderful opportunity. If you haven't,
02 I encourage you to do it. Uh, you can go to an Ethiopian restaurant and find great cuisine if you like Ethiopian cuisine, uh, or you can go to Israel and go to a Bedwin tent, uh, and and, and you, it's a similar, it's a similar idea where you all sit around reclining and eating. It's one, I'm just thinking about food right now and talking about it is making me a little bit more hungry. But, but really there's, there's really no experience like sitting around and sharing a meal with someone else. And Yeshua says this thing, he says, the one of you who's gonna betray me has his hand in the plate.
53 And you can imagine there's, there's at least the 12 guys sitting around the table. I presume that there's more. Uh, but you can, but there's at least the 12 and they all of a sudden start having a conversation. Well, who's it gonna be? Is it you? Is it me? Well, very, very rarely is it someone who says isn't me? It's more often, oh, I think there's gonna be that guy right over there. I mean, Judas has been looking a little sketchy with that purse recently. You been paying attention to that guy. It's always we throw the accusations at someone else. So and so is looking a little fishy today. So and so it's, it's, it's their thing. Who's gonna betray Yeshua? And what this does,
40 it leads them into a greater conversation. The conversation being who's the greatest of them all? You Know, cuz there's a mirror on the wall anyways, who is to con be considered the greatest of all of the disciples who is to be considered the greatest? It reminds me that in, in the book of Matthew, oh wait, maybe this is, I'm gonna talk about this in a minute. This conversation comes up in the book of Matthew and it's the mother of the ZedE boys.
29 And she says, can my son sit on your, on your left and on your right, she's asking for them to be the secondhand men, or in other words, to be in charge in the kingdom of Yeshua. Can you make my sons the greatest? I imagine this conversation, by the way, in the book of Matthew, that that takes place when Yeshua's and Jericho and which is less than a week prior to this. Can you just imagine if there's 12 guys and the mother of two of them comes and says, Hey, my two sons should be the leaders.
15 Can you imagine the conversations that are going on for that entire week once the mother is out of the room? How dare you put your mom up to that? I didn't put her up to it. She's a Jewish mother. She thinks I'm the Messiah. Just imagine the conversations that've been going for a week strong and now here we are. And Yeshua says, who is to be considered the greatest? Well, that's not what Yeshua says. This is what the, the disciples, who's gonna be the greatest, who's gonna be in charge in the kingdom because the kingdom's almost here, who's gonna be in charge? And Yeshua says, this is the way of the nations.
04 In other words, to seek power over one another. It's not the way that the Lord has called you, namely the people of Israel, and now is being applied to the followers of Yeshua who are still at this point all Jewish. This is not the way the Lord has called you to be. It is not the way that it will be in the coming kingdom. He says, in the nations, those exercising authority are called benefactors. Ancient near Eastern kings had long claimed to be gods and had ruled tyrannical. Greek rulers were typically the same, and the Jewish people viewed the Roman emperor and his government or his agents in much the same light as the Greeks and the ancient Eastern
52 rulers before him. In other words, to rule in this manner is not a good way to rule. There has been no good that has come from this. And Yeshua says, rather, let the one who is greatest among you become like the youngest and the one who leads, like the one who serves for, who is greater, the one who reclines or the one who serves. Is it not the one who reclines? But I am among you as one who serves Yeshua is giving some leadership lessons here. He's giving some leadership lessons as to leaders of this world or leaders in the kingdom of God. He says, leaders in this world, we con they're considered to be greatest to youngest.
38 Why often prestige or status was measured by age. The oldest was put in charge of the most and had the most influence, and the youngest was the least able to influence others or even perhaps wasn't even consulted in matters of importance. I do want to note at this point that Peter and John are often paired together. Why do I say that? Because in my estimation, Peter is the oldest of the Talmud dim a and I gave my justification to that a couple months ago. But let me give it to you one more time. In Matthew chapter 17, we see, uh,
26 Peter go out to a body of water, catch a fish, and open up the fish's mouth at the command of Yeshua, at the instruction of Yeshua, open up the fish's mouth and inside our four drima coins, which would be twice what the temple tax was. The temple tax was two coins per adult mail, adult mail being a, a male over the age of 2020 or older. Why, where do we get that from? Well, we get it from this week's tour portion and the subsequent judgment which comes on the, on the people of Israel, because what I didn't get to with the kids is 10 of those 12 rulers or spies rejected God's
12 command to go into the land. They said the giants are too big. The the fruit looks great, but the giants are too big. We look like grasshoppers in their eyes. And so the judgment is that they're to wander for 40 years, one year for every day. And in that process, the Lord says, none of you over the age of 20 will live to enter into the land of Canaan. And so we see here the demarcation for, uh, to be considered to pay the temple tax of, of two drachmas. When Peter goes in and pulls this fish out, he's with Yeshua and the rest of the tadem,
59 but he only pulls out four coins, which is enough to pay the temple tax for two people. Yeshua's not gonna pay the temple tax for two and not the other 10 unless he doesn't have to. And so my reasoning is that Peter is over the age of 20 and everyone else is under the age of 20. So Peter, that leaves Peter and Yeshua is the only two over the age of 20. Peter also is the only one that we know to be married. John, according to church history, is the youngest of the disciples. And there's a variety of factors that would lead to want to think that. One of which is that he lives well into the nineties,
47 not not his age, but I guess it could be his age, but he lives into the nineties, like 90 through a hundred ce if that makes sense. So 20 plus years after the destruction of the temple. And if John lives that long, then either he gets really, really, really old or he was really young to begin with and he just, he lives a little bit of a longer life. It Seems to me that John is probably the youngest, which makes it interesting that Peter and John get paired together quite often.
35 The one who leads should be like the one who serves. This is not exactly always the case, certainly in the, uh, the, the rest of the nations. In fact, in the nations Yeshua's making the point that the leader is never the servant. The leader is the one who's, uh, being looked to and in fact is being propped up by the work of the others underneath them. Now, I will just say from a very practical standpoint, it becomes difficult to be both the one guiding a group and the one serving a group. When you get to particular sizes, uh,
23 just as a practical difficulty in Yeshua's making the case, who is going to be the leader in the kingdom? Who is greater, the one who reclines or the one who's serving, and Yeshua says, I'm with you as one who serves. And if Yeshua is the Messiah and therefore the greatest among them and is serving them, then how much more so should they endeavor to serve one another? If Yeshua's the greatest and still serving them, then how much more so should they who are lesser than he serve others? Yeshua is encouraging them to serve one another. In fact,
11 he's upending the leadership structure of the world and installing his own leadership structure. My encouragement is be like Yeshua be a servant in this life. He continues here in verse 28. You are the ones who have remained with me in my times of testing and just as my father has granted me a kingdom. So I grant to you that you may eat and drink at my table in my kingdom, and you shall sit upon thrones judging the 12 tribes of Israel. What he gets, he gets here to a point of reward for his,
57 for his tal maddi, his the what what we down know as the apostles. I would make a venture here to say that the Seder is mostly done. We're now to the point where everybody's lounging around, reclining, talking, doing whatever it is. And it seems to me at this point that Judah otherwise known as Judas, is gone from the scene. Now why, why would I say that? I would say that because Yeshua says you have remained with me during this time of testing. And just as the father has granted Yeshua a kingdom, they will eat and drink with Yeshua at his table in his kingdom and be rulers in
45 his kingdom. And Yeshua explains that they will judge the 12 tribes of Israel. They'll sit on thrones. And judge, it's important to note that judging is in connection with rulership in the biblical context. When you go back to the book of judges, the judges who came to Judge Israel were rulers of the tribes. A judge would arise and they would lead the people and they would lead the people back into the will of the Lord. In the book of Judges, it seems to me, unless, unless you take the position that Judas is going to be one of those who sits on the throne and judges the tribes,
33 that he's probably already gone at this point from, from the meal, Yeshua moves on and he says Simon Simon, by the way, Simon and Peter, it's the same name. It's the same person. Oftentimes there's there's multiple names in, in a, in a Jewish family, Simon, Simon, indeed the adversary has demanded to sift you all like wheat. It's interesting because he's now addressing Simon or Peter as the leader of the group because he says, Simon, the adversary is demanded to sift you all. So now we see that all of the disciples are gonna be sifted,
19 but I have prayed for you, Simon, that your faith will not fail. And when you have turned back, strengthen your brothers. It's encouraging. Yeshua says, I know you're gonna fail and it's okay, but when you turn back, take that opportunity to strengthen your brothers. He's giving him instructions and Simon says to him, master, I'm ready to go with you even to prison and to death. Why? Because this is what Peter does. Peter says, let's go. By the way, Peter's often looked down upon for being foolish. That person is an important person to have in a group.
04 That person is is was the same as Joshua and Caleb. In fact, that was Caleb. When you look back at the 12 spies, Caleb says, let's go. Give me the high places. I'm gonna take 'em out. Peter says, let's go. I'm going with you to death. He has no, he has, he has no, um, I don't know what the word I'm looking for. He has no understanding that he's not gonna follow through with that. He fully believes that this is what's going to happen. And Yeshua replies and says, I tell you, Peter, a rooster will not crow today until you've denied three times
51 that you know me. The adversaries this has has, uh, demanded to sift the disciples like wheat. So it's interesting, I looked up what this process of sifting wheat would be, and I don't know, I looked at multiple different places and I got multiple different answers. But I found one that I thought was interesting for my illustration for the message. So that's the one I'm gonna go with, that these, this wheat would be brought in, would be placed on the floor, probably a stone floor, and it would be beaten with a flail. You see? So the grain is there and it's being beaten. This is the, the process of sifting is being beaten. And the purpose is,
37 is it begins to separate the chaff, which is the outer side from the kernel of wheat, which is the inside. So when it's been beaten hard enough and long enough, then they would take it and they would throw it up in the air. The wheat, the kernel of wheat was heavy and would fall back down. But even with a slight breeze, the chaff would blow off and be removed. So I want you to take that and apply this into our, into our situation. The purpose here of the beating of the, of the wheat is to loosen the hard outer shell from what it is that's usable in the middle.
27 It seems like Yeshua's wording here indicates that the disciples are going to go through a period of suffering. In other words, being beaten like the wheat and the hard outer shell would be part of the reason that they're going through this beating. Why? Because the hard outer shell is supposed to be gone. It's not usable, but in order to get rid of it, it has to go through this be period. And the good stuff, the grain of wheat is what would remain, the disciples will be sifted. We know that by the adversary in the near future, during Yeshua's suffering, and in fact Peter
15 who is quick to respond, that he will follow the master even unto death. We find that that's not actually the case. Peter's greatest strength Is his self-confidence. And that self-confidence is what will be sifted by the adversary. He's bold, he's quick to jump into lots of different situations with passion and, and in many times for the correct purpose, but he does it in his own strength, not in the strength of the Lord. And sure enough, we we, we will learn as we go through, continue through the book of, uh,
02 through the book of Luke and through the chapter 20 of 22, we see that Peter denies Yeshua three times and then the rooster crows as a reminder. It's getting late at night. I don't know if you remember this, it's saer time. They've had multiple glasses of wine, lots of food. It's probably midnight ish or later. And now we're beginning to have this discussion. Who's the greatest? Everybody's also tired. I dunno if you guys ever have family over, that's the worst time to ever have a productive conversation. You know, multiple glasses of wine deep late at night
52 when you're all tired. And now you get into an argument is who, who's the greatest? Because that's the sort of stupid thing you talk about late at night after you've had multiple glasses of wine. It's before the morning, so it's late at night. So we're, we're talking about less than six hours before. Peter denies Yeshua three times less than six hours from this point. In fact, there's a national connection to this concept of, of, uh, sifting between the the people of Israel.
40 And we find it in Amos chapter nine. In fact, I'm just going to turn to Amos chapter nine here. We'll start in verse eight. Amos chapter nine, verse eight. Behold the eyes of my Lord otai are on the sinful kingdom. So I will utterly destroy it from the face of the earth. Nevertheless, I will not annihilate the house of Jacob. It is a declaration of otai. For behold, I have commanded and I will shake the house of Israel among all the nations like grain being tossed in a sea without a pebble falling to the ground by the sword shall all the sinners of my people die. Those who say the calamity will not overtake or confront us
31 in that day. So we see the shaking happens and it moves. Now to the next part. In that day, I will raise up David's fallen tent. I will restore its breaches, raise up its ruins and rebuild it as in days of old. So they may possess the remnant of Edam and all the nations called by my name. It is a declaration of otai, the one who will do this. Behold days are coming soon. It is a declaration of otai when the plowman will overtake the reaper and the one treading grapes, the one sowing seed, the mountains will drip with sweet wine and all the hills will melt over. Yes, I will restore the captivity of my people, Israel. They will rebuild de desolate cities and dwell in them.
17 They will plant vineyards and drink their wine. They will also make gardens and eat their fruit. Yes, I will plant them on their land and they will never again be plucked up out of their land that I have given to them. Otai, your God has said it. There's a prophetic element that's that's here in this shifting or shaking that Yeshua is talking about. And the prophetic element of it is that part will happen right before the restoration of the fortunes of the people of Israel and the rebuilding of the ruined cities. And when that happens, it says the people will never be uprooted again. You can see the disciples making these connections. I just wanna point out,
04 I know I didn't say it, uh, when we went through the passage, but a couple, well maybe it's a couple months ago now. It was a couple chapters ago when we talked about going into Jericho at that point there were two towns of Jericho. There was an old town that was old and destroyed the remnants and then the new city, which is where all the commerce was. You can just see, you can imagine the disciples seeing it's been less than a week. I just wanna remind you of that. And now they're thinking the rebuilding of the ruined cities, the rebuilding of the ruined cities could, maybe it's happening, maybe this sh this uh, sifting or shaking will, will go quick.
52 And then the kingdom of God is here and the people will never be uprooted again. It's not too difficult for us to understand that they're making these quick jumps. Why? Because it's logical to make that quick jump. So now we come to this next part, verse 35 in Luke chapter 22. And he said to them, and Yeshua said to them, when I sent you out with a money pouch and a travel bag and sandals, you didn't lack anything, did you? They said, no, nothing. Then he said to them, but now whoever has a money pouch must carry it as well as a travel bag.
38 And whoever does not own a sword must sell his cloak and buy one for I tell you that this which is written must be fulfilled in me. And he was counted with the lawless for what is written about me as being fulfilled. But they said, master, look here, two swords. And he said to them, it is enough. So let's, let's have a conversation about this for a few minutes. They're getting prepared to go out. They recognize that they're getting prepared to go out, they're gonna be sifted by the adversary just as they know now they're gonna be sifted. And they were previously sent out in two by two, and I think that might have been a Luke chapter 11,
24 I can't maybe 11 or 12 somewhere right in there. They were sent out and, and Yeshua said, don't take anything with you when you go to the cities, I'll provide, you know, the Lord will provide for you your food, your everything the Lord will provide. And so they did it. And, and sure enough, the Lord provided they lacked nothing. What it did is it helped build their faith in the supernatural provision of the Lord. But now Yeshua's saying something different, he said, that's how I sent you out before. This is how I'm sending you out now. Now you're to be prepared. You need a money pouch, a travel bag, and a sword.
10 Dr. Stern says this, the emissaries will still be protected, but the circumstances will differ. Prudence and practical considerations will play an important role. A wallet, a pack and a Roman short sword are to be standard equipment, especially on the road where highway men pose a threat to life itself. So Yeshua is now saying, when you're going out, be prepared. Be ready for what is gonna happen. And he says, he goes into this whole, he says, you go buy a sword for I tell you that this which is written must be fulfilled in me.
55 And he was counted among the lawless for what is written about me is being fulfilled. Yeshua, by the way, is going back to Isaiah 53, Isaiah 53, verse 12, where it says he was counted among the transgressors. You see, all of us, I I presume maybe I, maybe I'm presuming too much. We go look at Isaiah 53 and we, we find that he bore our sins as atonement. His he went silent before the, the as a sheep before the shear. All of these passages. But we don't think about this. He was being counted among the lawless or the transgressors. The Hebrew word that's used here connects it with rebels and revolt.
45 And during the time of Yeshua, the rebels would carry what? Short swords for quick action. And Yeshua says, go buy a sword if you don't have a sword. And the disciples say, oh look Lord, we there's two here. And he says, what? Dinu, it's enough. It's interesting actually that he says Dinu here kind of at the end of the Seder. But really I wonder, is he saying that's enough swords for me to be counted among the rebels? You see the swords misidentify their bearers as rebels during that time.
32 And we'll see in a few weeks when Yeshu is confronted. But he's confronted by a crowd and he says, you come and confront me as if I'm a rebel or I'm a leading a rebellion. A revolt. Why? Because he's being, he's being associated with the transgressors, the rebels. It's in fulfillment of Isaiah 53. It's so fascinating to see how the scripture all really ties together, uh, in the life of Yeshua and what he does. So how, how do we take this and apply it in our own lives? Today I want you to walk away with three things. Number one, you should ask the question, how do we lead in our lives today?
22 Are we willing to serve others like Yeshua? Did? Are we lo or are we looking for prominent roles so that we can be noticed and regarded highly by others? You see, Yeshua did. What Yeshua did is he came to the Seder and said, let me wash your feet. The feet, I dunno about you guys, feet are gross to me. And I wear shoes, clothes, shoes with socks, but feet are kind of gross. And you think about all of the places where the disciples have been walking the dust and everything else that they've been walking through. And Yeshua says, let me have your foot.
10 It's so funny because in a different account, Peter says, Lord, do my whole body again. This is Peter. Like this is, this is Peter like, he's like just everything. Lord, by the way, I just wanted to point out he's the only one who had enough faith to get outta the boat and walk on water. It's an amazing thing when you begin to think about it. But Yeshua gets down, humbles his own self. He is the messiah of the world. He is the king of the coming kingdom. He is the word by which everything was created. He was. He is and he will always be.
56 And yet he stoops to the point of washing the dirty feet of his disciples. And I would presume whoever else is in the room. So how do we lead in our own lives? Are we willing to serve as Yeshua did? Secondly, what is being sifted in our lives today? Do you ever feel like you're laying on the hard ground and there's a flail just beating you? Sometimes I just wonder if like in this case, with the grain of wheat,
45 if there's this hard outer shell that is not what God wants and that part has to be removed and it's through the times of suffering and trial and difficulty. And the moments where you go, God, I don't know what else to do because this isn't working. It's in those moments when the, when now when it's to the grain is tossed up, the grain falls and the outer shell flies away. And we realize in our own lives That that whatever there was before was confidence in ourselves
32 and not confidence in the Lord. You see, it's okay to be confident because our God is God of everything. Our God created the heavens and the earth. Our God sits on the throne. Doesn't matter if the sun rises or if it sets our God is God and he's creator of everything. Amen. We can be confident in that. But the moment we begin to gain our own confidence instead of confidence in him is the moment when that hard outer shell is still a little bit around. Now, I just want you to know
20 you've some, some of you may feel like you've gotten rid of it and I'll say, good job getting rid of the first part. But the reality is, until the day we die, we're continuing to get rid of it. So don't ever get too much confidence in yourself. Let the trial and the testing produce something in you that's valuable. Finally, how do we prepare? We may experience both seasons,
06 as I mentioned with Yeshua's followers, one season where we must rely totally entirely upon the Lord for our provisions, for our welfare, for everything. Or there's another season which we also see in this passage where we are to prepare for what the road has in store for us. So how do we prepare? Which one do we prepare for? And for those of you who have ever come and asked me a question, you know my answer is yes, because you will have both. You'll have opportunities where you are to rely entirely upon the
52 Lord for your provision. And those times are difficult. You will have other opportunities where you have to prepare. You have to know the circumstances that you're going into and you have to prepare for those. For some of us, preparation is difficult and that is what the Lord is trying to get you to do is actually prepare rather than procrastinate. Some of us like to do that. So we need to constantly seek the guidance of the spirit of the Lord as we are walking in our lives daily, we need to be able to discern, is this the season where the Lord is providing everything or is this the
39 season where I'm, I need to prepare and be ready for what the Lord has for me in the, in the next short season. You have to be able to discern those. So how are you going to lead? What is being sifted out of your life And what are you preparing for? I know that's bad English, But It is what it is. Avena Shabbat, may our Father in heaven. Lord, I thank you for this account, the book of Luke gives us. Lord, I thank you for the words of Yeshua, the the example that he gave to us.
29 Lord, I pray that you would work in each one of our lives today, Lord, that you would teach us to be willing to serve you even as Yeshua did. Lord, I ask that you would give us perseverance during the times of difficulty in trial and testing, Lord, perhaps during those times when we might be being sifted and allowing a certain part of us to die. And Lord, I pray that you would always
17 allow us to walk with the Holy Spirit to give us discernment as to the season that we are in and where it is that you are taking us. Lord, we bless you and praise you in the name of Yeshua or Messiah. Amen. May the Lord bless you and keep you. May the Lord make his face shine upon you and be gracious to you. May the Lord lift up his countenance upon you and give you peace.
36 In the name of our Messiah, Yeshua Shabbat Shalom.
